Some of the most outstanding sites of Peru are Machu Picchu, Titicaca lake and Cusco city  You can enjoy your vacations discovering Machu picchu citadel shrouded in mystery, and to this day archaeologists have not uncovered the history and purpose of this city of stone. Puno and Titicaca Lake according to legend, was the cradle of Inca civilization, as Manco Capac, the first Inca, rose from the waters of Lake Titicaca, under the orders of the divinities ,to found the Inca Empire. Lake Titicaca, at 3815 m / 11500 ft, is the world's highest navigable lake and the second largest in South America.

Day 01: Lima / Cusco: Sightseeing Tour and Visit to Nearby Ruins

Early in the morning, after breakfast, transfer to Lima Airport to board your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. Remainder of the morning free to rest and get used to the altitude and to take your Lunch. We recommended to take it in the restaurant of your hotel. In the afternoon, guided sightseeing tour in Cusco visiting the Main Square, the Cathedral and the Temple of the Sun or Korikancha . Then, we drive out of the City to visit the Inca sites of Kenko, Tambomachay, Puca Pucara and the impressive Fortress of Sacsayhuaman, strategically built on a hill overlooking Cusco, famous for its enormous carved stones, some of them standing over 9 m / 30 ft high and weighing over 350 tons. Return to your hotel.

Optional: Dinner in a typical restaurant with a folklore show where the musicians play their melodies with Andean instruments of beautiful sounds while typically dressed dancers will show you different ancient Peruvian dances.

Day 02: Cusco - Sacred Valley of the Incas

Early morning excursion to the Urubamba Valley, the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Visit to the picturesque Indian CCaccacollo Market held every day the shopping paradise of the Andes where barter is still practiced and the same time you have oportunity to explore the magic  Inca Pisac ruins. In the afternoon, passing through the Towns of Calca and Urubamba, we visit the Inca Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo, built to guard the entrance to this part of the Valley, and protect it from possible invasion from the tribes in the Lower jungle. You can walk through the quaint streets of the nearby Town, and get a good idea of what this Strategic Military, Religious, and Agricultural Centre was like during the era of the Inca Empire. Late afternoon return to your selected hotel for overnight. Evening free. We suggest strolling around the Main Square and enjoy the night atmosphere trying a delicious Pisco Sour in some of the many pubs around the Square.

Day 03 : Cusco: Machu Picchu - Aguas Calientes

Our clients are collected from their hotel at 10:30 am, and then are transferred to the Train Station of  Ollantaytambo. The Train leaves at 12:50 pm. towards Aguas Calientes, a town close to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. The train ride to Machu Picchu is one of the most beautiful journeys that visitors can experience in our country. The trip offers a great natural, so many staggering views of the Andes and a jungle atmosphere after descending to the 2000 metres. After approximately 4 hours we will have arrived in Aguas Calientes, where a representative from our agency will welcome you and will take you (on foot, no taxis in this town) to your hotel. In the afternoon, you will be picked up by our local representative, After that if you wish, you can go to relax in the thermal baths. The hot springs are located on the upper section of the village and offers outdoor pools. Overnight at the designated hotel in Aguas Calientes.

Day 04: Aguas Calientes - Machu picchu - Cusco

Breakfast at your hotel; full day Excursion to Machu Picchu, early transfer to the Bus Stop for the short ride (25 minutes) up to the citadel of Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, you will participate in a guided tour of the Citadel, visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial (the most important preserved Intihuatana), the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, houses, warehouses, a large central square; and all connected by narrow roads and steps that are surrounded by terraces cut into the mountain side. After the tour you'll have time to stroll around the Archaeological Site at your leisure. Opportunity to walk (approx 1 hour) up to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) or climb to the top of Wayna Picchu, with a magnificent view of the whole Sanctuary, return in the afternoon by train to Cusco and transfer to your hotel.

Day 05: Cusco / Puno by bus


Early departure by bus to the City of Puno, (3,860 m.a.s.l.). During the trip, we pass by the lovely Wacarpay Lake, offering spectacular views of the mountains reflected in its calm waters. We proceed to the beautiful Town of Andahuaylillas, and visit the Church of San Pedro de Andahuaylillas, better known as the Sistine Chapel of the Americas, due to its decorated polychrome ceiling. On the way, we stop in Raqchi, where we can see a spectacular Inca Sanctuary built by the Inca Pachacutec, and dedicated to the great Inca God of Wiracocha. It has a great central wall with a stone base of fine Inca architecture. Other walls are made of giant adobe bricks. The structure also has two circular lateral columns. Around the Temple are several buildings once used for housing and storage. About 70 km further on, we pass through La Raya Ranch where we can see herds of vicuñas and llamas. Then we travel along the High Plateau of Collao, stopping at the Town of Ayaviri, an important livestock and textile centre, to visit the impressive Temple of Kalasaya, ruins from the ancient Pucara Culture. Buffet lunch in a countryside restaurant, where we can enjoy the delightful culinary art of the region. Afternoon arrival in Puno and transfer to your selected hotel. Evening free.

Day 06: Lake Titicaca: Floating Islands of the Uros and overnight at the Amantani Island.

After breakfast, we take a two-hour motor boat excursion on the waters of Lake Titicaca to the unique Floating "Islands" of the Uros. These ancient inhabitants of the lake, known as the Water Tribe, have built their own "islands" by periodically adding new layers of a type of reed unique to the area called "Totora". Their homes and boats are also made from this material. After having experienced some of the ancient traditions of the local people, you continue your motor boat trip to Amantani Island. This island is inhabited by Quechua-speaking natives still governed by their ancient traditions, whose main occupations are the production of ceramics and textiles. The positive energy of this Island is so powerful that it is known as the "Love Island". Box lunch. Overnight at the house of a local islander to enjoy the hospitality of a typical Amantani home.

Day 07: Lake Titicaca: Amantani Island and Taquile Island - Puno.

After breakfast, you have time to stroll at leisure through the quaint streets of this colourful island. Late morning, you take a motor-boat to Taquile Island, also inhabited by Quechua-speaking natives who have developed efficient and unique social systems, as well as fine hand weaving techniques, down through the generations. Upon arrival at the Town of Taquile we will have a lunch.Then, we will take a walk through the various hills and archaeological sites of this 6km long island. In the afternoon, return to Puno for overnight at selected hotel.

Day 08 : Departure from Puno

After breakfast at your hotel, one of our representatives will meet you at your hotel and take you to the airport for your journey home or on to your next destination or extention trips.

Note: During the trip from Puno to Airport in Juliaca You may have the oportunity to Visit Sillustani ruins.  In coordination with one of our travel agents.
