Day 01: Cusco - Aguas Calientes - Putucusi Mountain

Our clients are collected from their hotel at 5:30AM, and then they are transferred to the Train Station at Ollantaytambo. The train leaves at 8:15AM towards Aguas Calientes, a town close to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. The train ride to Machu Picchu is one of the most beautiful journeys that visitors can experience in our country. The trip offers a great natural view, so many staggering vistas of the Andes and a jungle atmosphere before descending to 2,000m. After approximately 4 hours, we will have arrived in Aguas Calientes, where a representative from our agency welcomes you and will take you (very near on foot; Sorry, no taxis in this town) to your hotel. In the afternoon, you will be picked up by our local representative and then we will start the trek to the Putucusi Mountain. This trek takes about 3 hours and will give you amazing views of the citadel of Machu Picchu, as well as the surroundings mountains. After our trek, we will get back to Aguas Calientes, and if you wish, you can go relaxing in the thermal baths. The hot springs are located on the upper section of the village and offers outdoor pools. Overnight at the designated hotel in Aguas Calientes.

Day 2: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco

Breakfast at your hotel; full day excursion to Machu Picchu, early transfer to the Bus stop for the short ride (25 minutes) up to the citadel of Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, you will participate in a guided tour of the Citadel, visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun-Dial (the most important preserved Inti Huatana), the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, warehouses, a large central square, houses; all connected by narrow roads & steps that are surrounded by terraces cut into the mountainside. After the tour you'll have time to stroll around the Archaeological Site at your leisure. Opportunity to walk (approx. 1 hour) up to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) or climb to the top of Wayna Picchu, with a magnificent view of the whole Sanctuary, return in the afternoon by train to Cusco and transfer to your hotel.
