Titicaca, the World's Highest Navigable Lake Deep waters of the Inca: Titicaca National Reserve, was created in 1978 to preserve 37 thousand hectares of marsh reeds in the south and north sectors of Lake Titicaca. The reserve is divided into two sections, Ramis, in the provinces of Huancané and Ramis; and Puno, in the province of the same name. The reserve is home to dozens of native bird species (over 60 species in total between resident and migratory birds), fish (4 different families) and amphibians (18 native species). There are three islands in the lake, Huaca Huacani, Toranipata and Santa María.     ITINERARY: Day 01: Puno - Uros - Amantani .-The tour starts 8:30 a.m in the morning from Puno on Lake Titicaca to the remarking floating reed island – built on layers of totora reeds – home to the Uros indians, who still live as their ancestors did a thousand years ago. Then we will go AMANTANI ISLAND. A three hours boat ride on Lake Titicaca takes us to Amantani Island, 3,812 meters (12,500 ft.) above sea level and home to impressive archeological sites. Passenger can meet the Yatiri indians, the "Shamans" of Lake Titicaca who read the future in coca leaves (lunch, dinner). Familiar Lodge. Day 02: Amantani - Taquile - Puno .- Next morning the excursion will be start about 8:30 a.m, by boat from Amantani Island, this remote island is a remarkable community where Quechua, the language of the Incas, is kept alive by the islanders. The outstanding highlight of its inhabitants is their handicraft derived from techniques developed over centuries. We will have our lunch in this Island.
