most popular trek in Cusco and all Peru, Choquequirao could have been the place where the last Incas resisted after the Spanish invasions. In that amazing place you can see temples, terraces, plazas, complex hydraulic system. The abundance of many double jamb doorways and niches indicates that the place held high status. Many investigators say that Choquequirao was considered one of the most important religious center after Machu Picchu. The ruins were first visited and described to the western world by a French explorer during the 18th century. Hiram Bingham visited the site in 1910. Choquequirao is destined to replace the traditional hike as the serious trekker's alternative. Choquequirao Trek offers us a formidable trek across diverse ecosystems. We will enjoy beautiful views of the snowcapped peaks of the Vilcabamba Range. Choquequirao is situated in the spur of the Salkantay mountain range, over 3,030masl. on the left bank of the Apurimac river. In Inca times, it was linked with Machu Picchu by a complex network of trails. The reasons for doing this trek are many: The fantastic nature with valleys, snowcapped mountains and great variety of plants, birds & animals.
